A floor lamp with a travertine base stands firmly thanks to its weight. The natural texture of the stone differs in every piece, so no two travertine floor lamps ever look exactly alike. Combined with a linen or fabric shade, it brings a calm, natural light to living rooms and reading corners.
With its beige, cream and light brown tones, travertine goes well with wood, linen and brass. It stands out in Mediterranean, natural and minimal interiors; against dark walls, the light colour of the stone makes the lamp stand out like a sculpture. Travertine is a porous stone; wiping it with a damp cloth is enough, and acidic cleaners should be avoided. Place the floor lamp next to the reading chair so that the light comes from behind the shoulder; the bottom of the shade should sit slightly above eye level when seated.
